When I was looking for a pattern for a long Santa/Christmas hat, I was politely told to take a break from technology.. Which meant no more pattern hunting for the day. SO, I had to rely on my mind to come up with a pattern. So I started from the bottom of the hat and measured my head to get a size. Then I crocheted in the round and decreased when I thought the timing was appropriate. The hat turned out WAY better than I excepted. Then I ribbed the bottom of the hat, and added a large pom pom(not perfectly round as I hoped) to the end of it.
In the future I would like to make a much longer, this will mean more contemplating on where I should decrease :( But it shouldn't be that bad I suppose.
So here is how it turned out:

As I said, I want a longer one... |
I will write down the pattern soon, and probably make it available for everyone, since I personally don't like buying patterns.
This hat could be a sleepy time hat, a santa hat, an extended pixie hat, or all of the above. Any other suggestions?
